This is Les' new pride and joy. I have a feeling that Heidi and I are going to be without husbands on any holidays and Saturdays the boys think are 'free' for the rest of the season. And just in case you didn't notice it resides in our two car garage with my car.

The old days

Grandpa Peart with Santa. It's been almost 10 years since he passed away. I was his little Princess. I really miss him and I am glad that my aunt gave me a copy of these photos for Christmas.
Me on Santa's lap at Grandma Peart's house. I think I was almost two. It is the same Santa that has come every single year of my life. How cool is that?

Red Suit

Tonight was the annual Christmas party at Grandma Peart's house. As usual Santa came after dinner to give the little kids pajamas and have photos taken. Addi got to sit on his lap 3 different times, but Payton wouldn't sit on his lap until he gave her the present. I got a couple photos of Taylor on his lap, but Brooklyn wasn't going too close to that crazy old man in the red suit.

Welcome Baby Weston

I am an aunt again and this time it is a boy!!! My sister gave birth to a sweet baby boy on Monday at 1:37pm. He is 6 lbs 13 oz and is so very loved. We are so glad he is here and is well. I forgot my camera when I went into the hospital, so I will have to post a photo as soon as I can get over to her place to snap one or get the photos I took off my Mom's camera. Addison is so excited that Taylor is a big sister like her.
Congrats Jenny, Jon and Taylor!

Payton's Birthday

My baby is one!!! I am so very proud of her, but so sad that she is growing out of being my baby. Her birthday party was great and she got some clothes and toys. Thanks to everyone who came and made this so much fun for her.

Two Front Teeth

Payton was so sad cause I shut the drawer she was pulling dish cloths out of. Look at those two beautiful two front teeth. Just in time for Christmas.

Cutest Kids I've Ever Known

We took photos of all the kids after Jenny's baby shower on Nov 15th. They are so cute, but since they are all so little it was hard to get them all looking at once.

Gingerbread House

Addi and I decorated a small gingerbread house together on Tuesday.

Dance Program

Addison's dance class had a short parent program yesterday. They got to wear Christmas colors and have a Christmas party afterwards. Addison did such a great job. She was so very cute. I took a couple photos of her in front of our Christmas tree after we got home. Cute!!! I think this is what every mom waits for.

Christmas Shopping

Why is Christmas shopping so difficult? First of all there are those people who nobody understands and therefore nobody has any idea whatsoever what to buy them for any occasion. Second of all I hate shopping without taking Les or Addi with me, but in order to sneak out to buy the presents from 'Santa' I have to do it while Les has the girls. The most recent problem I am having is deciding what to buy Payton. What do you buy a tiny little girl who is having a birthday just over a week before Christmas and is turning one? There are only so many outfits that she needs and only so many little toys that are appealing. I am completely stumped! After doing the birthday shopping and a tiny bit of Christmas we are out of ideas. I really notice how spoiled our family is when we already have everything and there is nothing left to buy. I should be counting my blessings. Especially since the country has now officially declared a recession.

Home Again

It's fun to be gone, but even better to come home after being gone! We left Wednesday morning and drove down to St. George to spend Thanksgiving with part of Les' family on the Badertscher side. We also drove down to Las Vegas and back to visit his mom for a couple of hours on Friday and then drove on back to St. George. The kids had their ups and downs, but all in all it was very enjoyable. Now to get that stack of laundry done and everything put back in it's place!

Happy Birthday Les!

Today is Les' 27th Happy Birthday!!! He had the day off so after he went to the chiropractor he and the girls came to my work to visit and brought me lunch. So much fun!! Also, the girls are going to the movies with Jenny, Jon, Taylor, Sarah and Segna and then sleeping over at Jenny and Jon's tonight. Les and I are going to dinner and seeing a later movie with Heidi and Dave. It will be nice to not worry about getting the girls home and to bed at a decent hour or waking up at 5:30 (the time we usually wake them up) with them on a Saturday. Sounds like as much fun for me as it will be for Les and it is totally not my birthday. Thanks to all my sisters and bro-in-law! You guys are the best of the best!

Christmas decorations are up!!!

This weekend we put up the Christmas tree and other decorations. Addi is finally getting old enough to help out and have an opinion on how it is done. Holidays are so much better with kids, expecially Christmas!!! We have a really small tree that I used to use for work that I let her put her own decorations on. Now that we have a much larger house it has occured to me that I need to do some holiday shopping. Some of the areas of the house have little or no decoration and I just can't have that. Also, the tree decorations are blue, white, and silver, but they really don't go with the house. I will have to fix that, but for now blue will do.

5 years and going strong

Today is our 5 year wedding anniversary. I can't believe it has been 5 years already, but then again it seems like we have always had our girls and I wouldn't want it any other way. Sarah is watching the kids tonight so that we can have a night on the town (which we have only done once since having Payton). I am really looking forward to it. I might actually be able to hear Les talk since usually Addi is singing some crazy made up song and Payton is babbling loudly. I have been wanting a shelf for the house to put pictures and decorations on. I still have pictures in boxes cause in the new house I don't have anywhere to put them yet. Les took me shopping for one last night and I couldn't have been more happy with the one we found. I love my hubby!!!

Payton is Walking!!!

For the past week or two Payton would walk, but only when bribed with mini M&M's. Yesterday she figured out that she can stand up in the middle of the room and walk around. I am so very proud of her. It is fun to watch the wheels just turning in her mind. She giggles while she is walking which is really very cute, but does not help her keep sturdy.
She has also started to try talking. She can now say "Dada", "Papa", "Mama", "Nana", "Addi" and "Ut-oh". When we talk to her she has started to really stare at our mouths like she is trying to figure out how we are saying things. She is growing and learning so quickly. Every week she learns something new. Addi can't wait until she is a "big girl" and can play pretend.
Another thing she is doing this week is refusing baby food and formula. She will only drink about 3 bottles per day now and will refuse her baby food if anyone is eating any regular food anywhere near her. She loves Mac & Cheese and Vegetable Beef soup, but will really eat anything, unlike her big sister.
-So proud of her!!!

Home Sweet Home

We had a great time in the hot Anaheim weather, but it's good to be home! We rode all the rides in Disneyland and most of the rides in California Adventure. We got to see a bunch of the characters (even Tink on her 2nd day at Disneyland), a parade and a fireworks show. Addison even got a special "year of a million dreams" meeting with two of the princesses. Addi and I even took a swim in the freezing cold swimming pool. We were able to have dinner with Les' uncle and his family who live nearby on Friday at the Rainforest Cafe. It was so nice to be able to see them even though it was just for dinner. We are looking forward to seeing them again for Thanksgiving in St. George. By the time our heads would hit our pillows we were out, but it was so worth it.

Addi's three Disneyland favorites:

  1. Favorite Ride-Splash Mountain

  2. Favorite Disneyland Treat- Mickey Ice Cream Bar

  3. Favorite Characters-Princesses and Tink

Payton at Disneyland-I noticed on the way to the airport this morning that Payton finally has her first tooth!!! Also, Les let her pick out a stuffed animal suvenier and she went crazy over Remi (the rat from Rattitoui). You would think she would pick something at least sorta cute!!! Oh well she loves it. Also, we were so amazed at how many rides she was able to go on. She rode on one of our laps on at least half of the rides. Les and I took turns taking Addi when Payton couldn't go.

Packing Payton

We are packing like crazy for tomorrow morning and Addi tells me to hurry up cause we haven't even packed Payton yet. Well, I took the most straightforward definition of packing Payton and you can see what happened. Had to hurry and post it.

Disney Or Bust

Only three more days until we fly to the fabulously magical land of Disney!!! Addi and I have been preparing an autograph book for all the characters since June. Now only if we can find all the characters and get the autographs. Addi is only really concerned about the princesses. As long as she gets to see them I think we will be fine. We have been scoping out their hang out spots on the internet and looking at all the fun rides and such. I am sure I will have tons of photos to post when we get back next Monday. Until then.......

Tag

I've been tagged!!! I guess I am to list 5 quirks about myself. Here goes...

  1. I hate the taste of eggs!!! I can eat an omelet if it has ham, cheese, peppers and tons of salsa, but forget it if I can taste the egg.
  2. For some strange reason I can't sleep with socks on. Even if I am freezing cold and fall asleep with them on I will find them in my bed the next morning.
  3. When I am tired I tend to play with my hair. Not sure why I do it, but I always have.
  4. I hate snow!!! I hate to drive in it, hate the way it covers the grass (and everything else) and hate how freezing cold it is. Last winter I got to stay in bed most of the snowy season and I was so very happy about it. I love the rain though even if it is overcast.
  5. I can't stand people that are always late and don't call. It drives me crazy!!! My Mom's family are the worst with this and I get so annoyed when people show up an hour late without calling and act like nothing is wrong with it. Phone calls are not that hard to make!!!

I tag Krystal and Melissa-

some kids still have manners these days

My dad usually takes Sammi a mile down the road to the bus stop since she started riding the regular bus. He is out of town hunting for the next couple weeks, so after I drop the girls off to my mom in the mornings I take her to the bus stop and wait with her for the bus. I have been so very impressed with the young boy that is her same age (Clay, 13) that lives on her road. He stands behind her and makes sure she gets on the bus just fine. When I pick her up on the way home I see him wait at the front of the bus for her, get off with her, and wait to walk across the street with her. He is so very genuinely kind to her that it is amazing. Sometimes it seems like the young kids now days are not taught to be respectful and kind to each other (let along a child with a handicap such as Sammi), but this young boy taught me this week that there are still people out there with manners. It came to my attention that it probably only takes a couple extra seconds to a minute to do this each day, but what a difference it makes not only to Sammi, but to me and my family.
-I just realized how cheesy this post is. Oh well-

Done Painting

We are finished painting (when I say "we" I mean Les, Jon and Andy)! It looks fabulous! I am amazed at how much a fresh coat (four coats for the maroon) of paint does for the overall look of the house. I can't wait until everyone can come see it. That means all of you!
Now if only I can talk Les into letting us paint Addi's crazy room! Wish me luck!

Addison and Madyson

Addison has made a fun, energetic new friend. Her name is Madyson (since they are three they think that it is so silly that their names are almost the same). I work with/am friends with Madyson's step-mom and thought they could both use another friend. They are in dance together along with Madyson's cousin Briley. They dance and make up songs and so hillarious when they are together. I have so much fun watching them.

Finally Painting

We have finally begun painting the upstairs of our home. The main walls will be tan with one maroon accent wall. We are also repainting the trim white. We got all the trim in the kitchen finished late last night. I am so excited. I have been begging Les to paint since we bought the house in January. It was just too much white and had too many bad touch up spots. When it is done I will post a picture. Special thanks to my bro-in-law Jon who got us the paint and is going to help us pull this project off. We are not great painters, so I am greatful that we have the talent in our family.

Addison Dances

As of June Addison is fully potty trained (day and night). We were so proud of her that we decided to let her sign up for dance lessons this year. She was picky as usual when it came to picking out the dance outfit. She had to have the skirt separate and it definately needed to be pink with sparkles. She started last week and loves it. I got to stay and watch her first class and was amazed at how confident she is. The girls got to choose if they wanted to pretend to be the big bad wolf or one of the three pigs while dancing to a song. Addison was the only one who wanted to be a pig and was not intimidated at all that the other 4 girls were coming after her growling. Her dancing is hillarious, but in just five days she has learned how to skip and how to do sommersaults. I am so proud of her. It will be fun to see how much she grows by the Christmas program.

Payton is Standing (when she feels like it)

That is right! Our little Payton is standing for a while by herself. She may take a step or two only to plop down on her tiny tushy. I can't believe that our baby is already getting ready to take on the world. I am posting a picture of her standing in her Halloween Tinkerbell costume.

Let's Make a Deal

For the last couple years Les has been wanting a new snowmobile, but every year something else comes up (miscarriage and the birth of Payton) and we are not able to buy one. We bought a new truck in January of this year and the old truck is still not sold. In fact it has been in a shop in Spanish Fork for the last 4 months. If he can get the shop to finally finish fixing the truck and can get it sold by the end of December he can buy a new snowmobile. That is only 3 months to get it fixed and get it sold. If not, the old one will have to do for another year. To be honest, I really doubt we will be buying a new one this year.
October 6th-I may have to take that statement back. The truck is suddenly fixed and we picked it up on Thursday.

Sparkles

Summer is coming to an end and the chilly mornings have arrived. We decided to go shopping for the girls some new fall clothes with our good friends Dave and Heidi on Monday. We started picking out jeans for Addi when she stomped her foot and yelled "MOM! I can't have those! They don't have sparkles!" Who knew that when they turn 3 they suddenly need sparkles on their jeans and Hannah Montana on their shirts? If she is this picky about clothes now I don't have a clue what we are going to do when she is 15!!!
